Wing! outshines the competition to secure a top spot at Green Man Festival 2025.

The final round of the competition took place at Clwb Ifor Bach in Cardiff, a venue known for championing fresh acts. Wing! performed as part of a trio and delivered a strong set in front of a packed crowd. Other finalists included Cardiff-based band Shale, A Lesser Version, lots of hands, and singer-songwriter Sarah Meth. Each act was chosen by a panel of music professionals who reviewed thousands of entries before selecting just five.

Winning the Green Man Rising title is about more than a performance slot. Wing! will also take part in a recording session during the festival, giving him access to top-level studio support and connections to producers, agents, and music scouts. This gives him a real shot at moving beyond the festival scene and into a wider audience.

Festival Managing Director Fiona Stewart praised the large number of entries this year and spoke about Green Man’s ongoing mission to support up-and-coming musicians. The festival has built a reputation for helping new artists find their footing and take the next step in their careers.

Wing!’s performance at the festival will be watched closely by fans and industry insiders. Many past winners of the competition have gone on to tour internationally and sign with labels. With a stage as respected as the Mountain Stage and an audience ready to discover new music, Wing! is stepping into a major opportunity.
