Tucker Wetmore finds his voice in powerful debut "What Not To"
Tucker Wetmore’s debut album, What Not To is a powerful mix of country storytelling and personal experience. Across 19 tracks, Wetmore reflects on the first 25 years of his life, tackling mistakes, regrets, and hopes for the future. His writing feels honest and unfiltered, setting him apart from many new artists in today’s country scene. Raised in Washington state, Wetmore brings a fresh voice to familiar topics like heartbreak, bad decisions, and starting over.
“I still wake up every day, mind blown that I’m doing the things that I’m doing,” he said. “I woke up today and I get to do what I love, and I’m gonna wake up tomorrow — hopefully, God willing — and do what I love. I’m very blessed.”
Songs that face heartbreak head-on
The album begins with "Whatcha Think Is Gonna Happen," a song about the patterns people fall into when chasing love and ignoring the warning signs. "Casino" and "Goodbye Whiskey" show how Wetmore uses vivid images to talk about love and addiction. "3,2,1," which has quickly become a fan favourite, captures the feeling of counting down to the end of a relationship. His lyrics are simple but cut deep, with no need for overcomplicated words.

Wetmore was raised in Kalama, a town located north of Vancouver, Washington. He completed his education at Kalama High School in 2018. When he was 11 years old, he developed a passion for playing the piano after being inspired by Jerry Lee Lewis. He later attended Montana Technological University in Butte, where he pursued a degree in business and information technology while also playing football.
