Tigirlily Gold's journey from Lower Broadway to debut album
Tigirlily Gold, the North Dakota sister duo, defy the stigma of being trapped in Nashville's Lower Broadway.<br><br>Despite the rumors that artists often frequent Music City's busiest bars for tourists, the sisters welcomed their encounters.<br><br>American Songwriter recently spoke with Kendra and Krista Slaubaugh, and they shared some personal insights.<br><br>Blonde, Tigirlily Gold's inaugural album, was dropped by Monument Records on July 26. Before the unveiling of Blonde, they claimed the title of New Duo of the Year at the ACM Awards earlier this year.

Blonde: what to expect
Blonde features eight original compositions from the sisters, with Shane McAnally overseeing production.<br><br>Performing frequently on Lower Broadway served as a valuable training ground for Tigirlily Gold, allowing them to enhance their abilities and gain insights into the music business.<br><br>Having spent over 10,000 hours entertaining crowds and fine-tuning their sound based on audience feedback allowed them to prepare themselves for the big break when it came.<br><br>The duo's debut album is an assemblage of their unique story and artistry. Tigirlily Gold authored approximately 40 to 60 tracks for Blonde, ultimately recording the ten that only they could sing.
Only Singing Songs That Were Uniquely Theirs
Known for their platinum blonde hair and flawless makeup, the sisters exude confidence and warmth.<br><br>Live performances are their "bread and butter," and they tested every song before including it on Blonde. The title track, "Blonde," was a fan favorite and inspired them to include it in the album.<br><br>They recount that Blonde was the song that caught the attention of someone from their booking agency. That and the crowd's reception made them feel good about it.
Krista Slaubaugh's manifested breakup
Pete Good and Josh Jenkins collaborated with Tigirlily Gold in writing their radio single, "I Tried A Ring On."<br><br>The track delves into the emotions that come with a split - the brokenness and the hesitation that follows. Krista had no clue she was manifesting her breakup when she was co-writing it.<br><br>Tigirlily Gold's strategy for success is to learn from other artists and chart their unique course.
