Tyla, born and raised in Johannesburg, signed to Epic Records in 2021 after the domestic success of her debut single “Getting Late” featuring Kooldrink.
She rose to international prominence with her 2023 single “Water”, which was a top 10 hit in the UK and the first song by a South African soloist to enter the US Billboard Hot 100 in 55 years.

As a result of her impressive success, Tyla Laura Seethal has been declared the recipient of the Most Stylish Performing Artist award by the judges of the SA Style Awards.
The recognition is a result of her rapid growth in popularity worldwide and her appearance on the Jimmy Fallon show.
