Rising star: 17-year-old Sydney Dale releases debut music video
North Idaho's burgeoning musical talent, Sydney Dale, is making waves with the release of her first music video for the track Girl You Call a Friend." Performing under her stage name Sydney Jacobson in her hometown, she collaborated with local production company Northern Visuals to bring her vision to life.
The video, which went live this morning, showcases several prominent locations in North Idaho, including Roger's Ice Cream and Burgers on Sherman Avenue, Lake City High School, and Coeur d'Alene High School.
Sydney's friends from school and her hometown feature in the production, adding a personal touch to the video. She included friends from Lake City, Coeur d'Alene High School, Gonzaga Preparatory School, North Idaho College, and even homeschooled friends.
The male lead in the video is Kyle Rohlinger, a Coeur d'Alene High junior and longtime friend. "I thought it was super fun because I knew a lot of the people acting," Kyle said. “It was fun hanging out with them and meeting new people. It was just a great experience, and I think Sydney did a great job with the song, producing, and directing it.”

"My short-term goal is to have an opening tour," Sydney said. "My long-term goal is to have my own tour and to continue writing songs and making albums."

She has been featured on radio broadcasts, secured modeling engagements, and earned a $1,500 scholarship for vocal performance at the University of Idaho's Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival. Her debut music video marks another significant accomplishment in her young career.
