Omar Apollo announces "God Said No" tour dates: North American run kicks off in August
Indiana-born musician Omar Apollo has revealed the dates for his [upcoming tour supporting his second studio album, "God Said No." The tour is set to start on August 20, 2024, in Indianapolis.
The North American leg includes 29 performances in major cities across the United States and Canada, including Chicago, Philadelphia, Toronto, New York, and San Diego. Fans are particularly excited about stops at iconic venues like Forest Hills Stadium in New York and Red Rocks Amphitheater in Colorado. The tour will wrap up on October 11, 2024, in San Diego, California. Opening acts for select shows include Malcolm Todd, Kevin Abstract, and Ravyn Lenae.

Omar Apollo's new album, "God Said No," features the singles "Spite," "Dispose of Me," and "Less of You." The album, which will be released on June 28, 2024, explores the aftermath of a relationship and finding acceptance and humor despite the pain. Apollo cites diverse influences for this album, including artists like Kate Bush, Labi Siffre, Giorgio Moroder, Beyoncé, Lana Del Rey, and the Rolling Stones. Teo Halm served as the executive producer for the album. Citi and American Express cardholders had access to pre-sales on June 11 and 12, respectively. An artist presale began on June 12 at 10 am local time, with additional presales running throughout the week.
During his childhood, Apollo was exposed to the music of his parents' preferred artists, including Pedro Infante, Los Panchos, and The Beatles. As he matured, he also drew inspiration from a wide range of musicians such as Neil Young, Paul Simon, John Mayer, Prince, Bootsy Collins, Rick James, and the r&b group The Internet.
