Killswitch Engage unveils "This Consequence" with upcoming North American tour
Massachusetts-based metalcore pioneers Killswitch Engage are gearing up for a monumental 2025. The band has announced the release of their highly anticipated album, This Consequence, set to drop on February 21 via Metal Blade Records. This marks their first studio album since 2019’s Atonement and signals a bold new chapter in their nearly two-decade-long career. Alongside the album release, the band will embark on an expansive North American tour, bringing their intense live energy to cities across the continent.
A new chapter in metalcore
Described by frontman Jesse Leach as the culmination of the past five years, This Consequence reflects the challenges faced by the band and society at large. "This album is about connection—between people, with the universe, and the unknown," Leach shared. The collaborative effort showcases contributions from all members, resulting in a record that feels deeply personal and universally resonant.
The album’s lead single, "Forever Aligned," debuted on Sirius XM’s Liquid Metal and offers a glimpse of the band’s signature intensity. According to Leach, the song delves into themes of love, humanity, and spirituality, emphasizing the need for connectivity in an increasingly divided world.
