Jay Som announces U.S. headline tour that may or may not fix your life
Jay Som, government name Melina Duterte, is officially back to fill your ears (and emotional voids) with her third solo album, _Belong_, arriving October 10, 2025. It’s her first solo project in six years, and no, she hasn’t mellowed out. If anything, she’s doubled down, writing, recording, producing, and mixing the whole thing like someone with a grudge against free time.
Get ready for Jay Som's highly anticipated new album, "Belong," releasing on October 10th! This marks her first album since 2019 ...
Float away
Tour begins in San Francisco
Jay Som kicks off her 52-date headline tour on October 16 at the Regency Ballroom in San Francisco, the perfect launchpad for an artist who turned bedroom pop into a full-blown emotional export. From there, she’ll sweep through cities like Boston, Atlanta, Portland, and Chicago, making it increasingly difficult to pretend you have other fall plans.
The shows promise all the classics: echoing guitars, layered harmonies, fans silently weeping into their sleeves, and merch tables that ruin your budget. And honestly, what more could you want?

Melina is an absolute professional in all aspects of music creation. I am honoured she had space in her vision for me to contribute. And it was a lot of fun to work on. Great song!
Guest features with sure feels
The album also ropes in some heavy hitters. Hayley Williams of Paramore makes an appearance, alongside Jim Adkins of Jimmy Eat World and Lexi Vega from Mini Trees. It's basically a sad indie Avengers lineup. And judging by early singles like "Float" and "A Million Reasons Why," you're going to cry, smile, cry again, then hit replay.

Red Rocks will ruin you
If you're only going to catch one show, make it November 21. That’s when Jay Som hits Red Rocks Amphitheatre, aka the place where sound, sky, and sobbing converge. The natural acoustics are stunning. The setting is dramatic. And yes, you will feel things you’ve buried since 2017.
You’ll probably leave with a blurry photo, a spiritual crisis, and a tote bag. So, mission accomplished.

This album might wreck you
Belong isn’t just music, it’s the kind of sonic therapy that makes you reflect on every decision you've made since high school. It’s lush, raw, and unapologetically moody. Duterte pours herself into every track, with songs that feel like voicemails from your past self, only with better production.
