Incubus prepares long-awaited comeback album with fall release planned

Boyd noted that working on this new album "happened really fast," "which is always a good sign for us, When an album comes together, like quickly, it means that we have gotten into a flow state of sorts."
A fast, creative process
Boyd recently shared in an interview that the recording process moved quickly, suggesting a smooth and inspired creative flow. He credited the album’s momentum in part to working again with veteran producer Brendan O’Brien, who previously helmed A Crow Left of the Murder and Light Grenades, along with Boyd’s side project, Sons of the Sea.

This album marks a new chapter for Incubus with the addition of bassist Nicole Row. Initially joining as a touring member in 2023, she became a full-time bandmate in early 2024 following the departure of longtime bassist Ben Kenney due to health issues.
