A creative reset after touring
The album was written and recorded from scratch in just 20 days at Sunset Sound studio in Los Angeles, shortly after Elton’s farewell tour concluded. Elton sought new musicians and a new producer to inject fresh energy into his sound, acknowledging that he wanted to be challenged. The sessions featured musicians like Chad Smith from the Red Hot Chili Peppers and former guitarist Josh Klinghoffer, with the entire process captured on film and later turned into a short documentary.
In March 2024, Elton and Brandi debuted the album at a sold-out concert at the London Palladium, where they performed new tracks and shared insights into the album’s creation with actor Dan Levy.
