A family affair
One outstanding track on the new album is "Want Me," which features a reunion with her sister, Halle Bailey, who recently achieved popularity for her part as Ariel in Disney's live-action rendition of The Little Mermaid.

The Bailey sisters have a lengthy history of collaboration, dating back to their 2020 album Ungodly Hour and their initial discovery by Beyoncé on YouTube. Chloe revealed that "Want Me" was inspired by her sister's life and experiences, saying, "It just felt like old times" while recording together. Their partnership adds a sense of nostalgia and a strong link to the new record.
Caribbean and Afrobeat influences
In an interview with Billboard at the 2024 BET Awards, Chloe described Trouble In Paradise as capturing the essence of a summer fling, with production influenced by Caribbean and Afrobeats sounds. "I've been enamored with the Caribbean, so expect Afrobeats-inspired, island vibes," she said.

Trouble In Paradise has a number of significant collaborations. Aside from reconnecting with Halle, Chloe announced in an interview with Nylon that Anderson.Paak and Jeremih will also perform on the record. These partnerships are expected to add a variety of sounds and styles to the project.
A career spanning decades
Chloe x Halle gained recognition after signing with Beyoncé's Parkwood Entertainment in 2016. Their debut album, The Kids Are Alright, released in March 2018, earned two Grammy nominations for Best Urban Contemporary Album and Best New Artist. They have since received three more Grammy nominations, solidifying their reputation in the music industry.

With Trouble In Paradise on the way, fans can look forward to another exciting chapter in Chloe's solo career. The album blends her signature sound with new themes. Chloe's neon-lit photo shoot on social media has already generated buzz. As she prepares to share her music, it remains to be seen how Trouble In Paradise will impact her status in the R&B scene.
“I got in my sister’s head and was like, OK, what is going on in her life right now?,” Chloe previously told Nylon magazine. We both have our own lives. She’s a mum now, we’re both travelling, we’re constantly passing each other in the sky. And I was like, ‘Sis, we’re going to be in New York at the same time, I would love for you to be on the record’.”
